DNV and Kongsberg Maritime have signed an agreement to enable standardized and secure operational vessel data exchange between their digital platforms.
The agreement connects Kongsberg Maritime’s fleet management solution with DNV’s Veracity platform through a standardized digital integration.
The partnership uses DNV’s Operational Vessel Data (OVD) interface standard and API technology to enable controlled data sharing between systems.
The companies said the integration will support digital assurance services, operational insights and future data-driven applications while maintaining customer control over data ownership and usage.
The initiative aims to simplify operational data management for shipowners and operators while reducing complexity across digital maritime services.
“Standardised and trusted access to operational vessel data is fundamental to accelerating digital assurance and improving decision making across the maritime industry,” said Mikkel Skou, Executive Director Veracity by DNV.
The agreement focuses on building secure digital pipelines and common data standards to improve interoperability across platforms.
“By connecting Kongsberg Maritime with DNV Veracity, we are making it easier for customers like Wisby to turn operational data into trusted reporting and practical insight,” said Anders Bryhni, Senior Vice President Digital Ocean at Kongsberg Maritime.
He added that stronger integration can reduce manual work, improve data quality and strengthen operational decision-making.
The collaboration is customer-driven and aims to simplify environmental reporting while helping operators maintain control over how data is shared.
Jon Rejfeldt, Technical Superintendent at Wisby Tankers AB, said the cooperation has already improved reporting consistency and resolved several data quality issues.
He noted that the standardized data pipeline will help reduce duplicate work and streamline processes such as voyage reporting and bunker delivery note handling.
The agreement reflects growing industry demand for standardized maritime data exchange as digitalization and reporting requirements continue to increase.
