Westport Moss Terminal has joined the Portchain Connect Network to improve berth coordination with shipping lines through digital data sharing and real-time schedule alignment.
The terminal will use Portchain Connect to receive real-time schedule and move count updates directly from carriers. The platform also enables faster responses and counterproposals to align vessel schedules with berth plans.
“By joining Portchain Connect, we improve our ability to coordinate vessel calls earlier with carriers and respond more proactively to schedule changes,” said Helge F. Instanes, Head of Business Transformation at Westport Moss. He added that the platform will improve planning, increase predictability and support more efficient cargo handling.
Portchain Connect digitises the berth alignment process by allowing terminals and carriers to securely exchange schedule data. The platform aims to reduce manual communication, speed up information exchange and improve schedule reliability.
“We are pleased to welcome Westport Moss to the Portchain Network,” said Thor Thorup, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer at Portchain. “Improved coordination between terminals and carriers supports more predictable vessel planning and contributes to more efficient port operations.”
