StormGeo and OceanScore have signed a collaboration agreement at Posidonia 2026 in Athens, deepening an existing relationship by formally combining their complementary capabilities in vessel emissions data and regulatory compliance management.

The agreement was signed on June 2 at the StormGeo booth during the biennial maritime exhibition.

The partnership brings together StormGeo’s expertise in operational vessel and emissions data with OceanScore’s specialisation in emissions compliance workflows covering EU ETS, FuelEU Maritime and the upcoming UK ETS requirements.

The combined offering is designed to help shipping companies navigate growing regulatory complexity more efficiently, connecting validated operational data with commercial compliance execution across emissions reporting, exposure management, pooling and financial settlement processes.

Albrecht Grell, Managing Director at OceanScore, addressed the perception that the two companies operate as competitors, arguing that the industry increasingly requires both perspectives working in concert.

He described the cooperation as a response to shipping companies’ need for connected, automated processes across operational and commercial teams rather than isolated point solutions.

Espen Martinsen, Chief Commercial Officer at StormGeo, framed the collaboration as enabling customers to translate validated operational emissions data into practical compliance management, creating a more integrated approach to the growing regulatory burden.

The cooperation covers emissions reporting and validation, compliance management across the major regulatory frameworks, exposure visibility and cost transparency, and pooling and financial settlement processes.

Both companies anticipate the partnership will continue to evolve alongside emerging regulations affecting global shipping, including FuelEU Maritime, the expanding EU ETS scope and forthcoming UK ETS obligations.
