RIKON has deployed its proprietary RROS remote control system on two 40-tonne rail-mounted gantry cranes at the Valencia-Font de Sant LluÃs intermodal terminal in Spain.
The project marks the commercial deployment of the company’s in-house RIKON Remote Operation System (RROS) on container handling equipment.
RIKON said the system allows operators to control cranes remotely from dedicated workstations instead of operating equipment directly on-site.
The company said the technology improves precision, enhances operator safety and creates more comfortable working conditions.
Each crane now operates through a dedicated remote-control station designed to improve operational accuracy during container handling.
The deployment took place at the Valencia-Font de Sant LluÃs terminal operated by ADIF.
RIKON said the project highlights increasing demand for automation solutions across rail and intermodal logistics networks.
The company is also expanding its presence in Spain through another project at Madrid-Vicálvaro terminal, where it is supplying three fully automated 40-tonne gantry cranes.
RIKON said the Valencia deployment strengthens its position as a provider of automated heavy-lift equipment and digital logistics technologies.
