DHL Supply Chain has expanded its data center logistics capabilities across Asia Pacific to support growing demand from hyperscalers and data center operators.
The company currently operates more than 30,000 square metres of dedicated data center warehousing in the region. DHL plans to add another 130,000 square metres through committed expansion projects in Malaysia and Thailand over the next two years.
The expansion will bring DHL’s total data center logistics footprint in Asia Pacific to more than 160,000 square metres.
DHL launched the initiative in response to rising investment in artificial intelligence, cloud services and digital infrastructure across the region.
The company expects Asia Pacific to become the world’s next major data center hub. Industry forecasts project around US$800 billion in regional data center investment by 2030.
DHL said customers increasingly require reliable logistics solutions to manage complex cross-border supply chains and large-scale infrastructure deployments.
To support these requirements, the company is investing in dedicated warehousing, high-security storage and specialized logistics services.
DHL is also expanding its white-glove handling capabilities. The service covers site surveys, route assessments, equipment verification, installation support and completion reporting.
The company is training employees to handle critical preparation and integration work in controlled logistics environments instead of active construction sites.
DHL has also strengthened its technical service offering. Teams can assemble server racks, install components, complete cabling work, perform testing and prepare equipment for transport.
The company said these services help customers reduce congestion at project sites, lower installation risks and maintain deployment schedules.
Javier Bilbao, CEO of DHL Supply Chain Asia Pacific, said the company is investing in infrastructure and specialized capabilities to support the next phase of data center growth.
“Customers need more than capacity; they need execution certainty,” he said.
Amanda Rasmussen, Chief Commercial Officer of DHL Global Forwarding and Head of the Data Center Logistics Taskforce at DHL Group, said data center logistics remains a strategic growth priority for the company.
She added that DHL is expanding its capabilities globally to provide integrated logistics solutions throughout the entire data center lifecycle.
