The DynaLiners Shares Index rebounded during the latest trading week, gaining 75 points, or 2.8%, to move above the 2,800-point threshold and reach its highest level of 2026.
The recovery came despite continued pressure on global trade and economic activity, with container shipping companies providing the strongest support to the overall index.
The DLSI Carriers index climbed 199 points, or 5.1%, to close at 4,081. The result represented another 2026 high and returned the carrier segment to its position as the leading sector index.
The remaining sector indices recorded only marginal movements, ranging from a 0.3% decline for DLSI Ports to gains of up to 0.5%.
Across the companies tracked by DynaLiners, 67 recorded share-price increases, compared with 51 declines. The average weekly gain stood at 1.9%, although this figure was heavily influenced by Mercantile Ports & Logistics, whose share price surged by 169%.
DynaLiners noted that the company’s volatility reflects its low absolute share price, equivalent to approximately US$0.05 even after the increase. Excluding this movement, the average weekly change would have been 0.5%.
Carrier stocks dominated the strongest performers. Of the next 15 largest weekly gainers, 13 were container shipping companies, led by Orient Overseas International Limited with a 16% increase.
At the opposite end of the ranking, shipowner Seacon declined by 14%, while Vietnam Maritime Corporation recorded the largest loss, falling by 19%.
