ZIM, Emergency Bunker Surcharge (EBS) update

ZIM’s announcement:

Due to the continued surge in bunker prices, and in order to maintain our current levels of service and high reliability, it has been decided to update the EBS (Emergency Bunker Surcharge) (*) applies upon FAK (Freight All Kind) cargo, in several trades, as detailed below.

The updated rates for those trades are listed below for your convenience (the data refers to ZIM’s base ports in each trade) and shall be implemented as of July 1st, 2018, till further notice:

China ports to Med/Black Sea & Europe (*) $100/TEU
Far East (excl. China Ports)  to Med/Black Sea & Europe $100/TEU
Med/Black Sea & Europe to Far East $55/TEU
ISC to Med/Black Sea & Europe $85/TEU
Med/Black Sea & Europe to ISC $60/TEU
Intra Med (E &W) & Black Sea (incl. ADR and TYR Trades) $70/TEU
Med/Black Sea to North Europe and Baltic/Scand. €25/TEU
North Europe and Baltic/Scand. to Med/Black Sea €50/TEU

(*) For Export from China – the charge is BAF

  • Above charges are additional to the applicable base freight charge, THC, bunker charges and security and PSS related charges which are provided in ZIM’s Tariff Calculator as well as other charges for additional services, local charges and contingency charges.
