Uber Freight has appointed Erin Mitchell as Senior Vice President, Implementation, strengthening its leadership team around customer onboarding and transportation management technology.

Based in Chicago, Mitchell will report to Todd Souder, Executive Vice President of Operations. She will lead customer onboarding for Uber Freight’s Transportation Management business.

Her role will focus on helping customers integrate the company’s Transportation Management System (TMS) into their operations. In particular, she will work to simplify implementation and accelerate the transition from technology deployment to day-to-day supply chain use.

“A successful implementation has to reflect how a customer’s business actually works,” said Todd Souder, EVP of Operations, Uber Freight. “Erin understands both what customers expect and what it takes to deliver operationally. Her experience will help us improve onboarding and get customers to value faster.”

More than 20 years in supply chain operations

Mitchell brings more than two decades of experience across supply chain, warehousing and logistics operations.

Most recently, she served as Chief Operating Officer at YMX Logistics. There, she led acquisition integration, operational deployment and customer integration as the company expanded its operations from two US states to 20.

Before joining YMX, Mitchell held several roles at Kraft Heinz. She led the company’s North American warehouse operations, overseeing a US$500 million warehousing budget.

Her responsibilities also included network transformation involving automated distribution centers, technology and organizational changes. Earlier in her career, she worked on TMS and enterprise resource planning implementations, as well as transportation, warehousing and inventory operations.

“Transportation touches so much of a company’s business, from warehouse costs and service levels to its ability to grow,” said Mitchell. “I’ve led supply chain operations and been responsible for delivering logistics services, so I understand both what customers expect and what it takes to deliver consistently.”

The appointment comes as Uber Freight continues to develop its transportation management offering, combining logistics operations with technology to manage increasingly complex supply chains.
