Tarros Group will restore a direct container shipping connection between Italy and Thessaloniki as part of an expansion of its Mediterranean network.
The carrier will deploy the Vento di Maestrale on the service, with the vessel scheduled to depart from Salerno for Thessaloniki.
The new Italy–Thessaloniki connection will directly link the Italian ports of Salerno, La Spezia and Genoa with the northern Greek gateway.
After Thessaloniki, the service will continue to the principal ports in the Marmara Sea and Aliaga near Izmir.
Thessaloniki strengthens regional connectivity
Tarros said Thessaloniki will serve as a gateway for cargo moving to and from the Balkans and Bulgaria.
Customers will also gain access to North African destinations through the carrier’s transshipment hubs.
The service will offer a range of container equipment for cargo moving across the Mediterranean network.
