Port of Koper has expanded its Asian connectivity after welcoming the first call of MSC’s new PHOENIX container service.
The vessel MSC AGAMEMNON VIII made its inaugural call at Koper on 31 May as part of the new direct service operated by MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company.
The bi-weekly service connects Koper with ports across the Far East, Mediterranean and Adriatic regions.
Following an introductory phase, the service is expected to move to a weekly schedule.
Port of Koper said the addition strengthens trade links with Asian markets and further expands regional connectivity.
The PHOENIX service becomes the port’s fourth direct container connection with Asia, reinforcing Koper’s position as an important gateway for cargo moving between Central Europe and Asian markets.
The expansion comes as ports across Europe continue increasing direct service offerings to support growing trade volumes and improve supply chain flexibility.
