NorthPort has completed several significant testing and installation milestones as part of its ongoing three-year structural upgrade programme, with works at Pier 16 and Terminal 1 progressing in line with the approved schedule.
Works on the initial 40-metre segment at Pier 16, within a designated 100-metre work area, have been underway since April 2026.
Pile Dynamic Analysis testing conducted on the test piles achieved the required design load, confirming compliance with applicable engineering and safety standards and validating the structural approach for the broader programme.
At Terminal 1, concurrent activities include underdeck repairs, wharf structure rehabilitation and asset tagging to support long-term asset management.
The parallel execution of these works alongside testing and piling operations is maintaining construction momentum while upholding safety and quality requirements.
The target completion date for the current scope of works remains end-June 2026, with the overall project on track for full completion by the end of 2027 in accordance with the approved three-year programme timeline.
The upgrades are designed to strengthen terminal infrastructure and ensure continued readiness to support the country’s growing trade and operational demands.
