NORDEN raises 2026 profit outlook on stronger markets

NORDEN has raised its full-year 2026 net profit guidance following strong operational performance across its Dry Cargo and Tankers businesses.

The Danish shipping company now expects net profit of between US$180 million and US$230 million, up from its previous forecast of US$140 million to US$190 million.

NORDEN attributed the upgrade to solid execution, successful regional positioning and firmer market rates. The company highlighted particularly strong rate developments in the tanker segment.

Stronger performance across shipping businesses

The latest upgrade follows an earlier revision in August, when NORDEN raised the lower end of its guidance after reporting a significant increase in second-quarter earnings.

At that time, the company increased its forecast to US$140 million to US$190 million from US$120 million to US$190 million. NORDEN reported a second-quarter net profit of US$101 million, supported by strong tanker spot rates and improved Dry Cargo performance.

The company now expects a significant share of its remaining 2026 earnings to be realised towards the end of the year.

“Since we are seeing strong performance across our business, we are pleased to upgrade our earnings expectations for the year,” said Jan Rindbo, CEO, NORDEN.

Rindbo noted that the improved outlook reflects higher freight rates, particularly in tankers, as well as disciplined execution across the business.

Meanwhile, expected gains from already signed vessel transactions remain unchanged at US$79 million.

NORDEN is scheduled to publish its third-quarter 2026 interim report on 29 October.
