MSC and Maersk will add Suape, Brazil, to their shared service connecting the US Gulf and Mexico with the East Coast of South America.

MSC markets the service as Gulf to SAEC I, while Maersk operates under the UCLA service name. The new southbound call will be positioned between Cartagena and Santos.

First Suape call scheduled for October

MSC Yamuna VI, operating voyage 640S, will make the first Suape call on 26 October 2026.

The revised rotation will be:

Veracruz – Altamira – Houston – Cartagena – Suape – Santos – Itapoá – Paranaguá – Itajaí – Santos – Rio de Janeiro – Cartagena – Veracruz.

The additional Suape call expands the service’s coverage of Northeast Brazil. Maersk also said the revised rotation will support cargo moving to Manaus through connections with its inland and ocean transport network.
