Maersk will increase its Intermodal Fuel Fee for truck transportation in Honduras amid continued volatility in global energy markets.
The surcharge will rise from 10% to 14% and apply to both import and export cargo transported by truck.
Honduras intermodal fuel fee effective dates
The revised fee will take effect based on the Price Calculation Date as follows:
- Non-FMC shipments: 9 October 2026
- FMC-regulated shipments: 9 November 2026
The adjustment will remain in effect until further notice.
Maersk will display the surcharge separately on customer invoices as the Export Fuel Surcharge (EFS) or Import Fuel Surcharge (IFS), depending on the shipment direction.
The carrier previously implemented a 10% Intermodal Fuel Fee for truck transportation in Honduras in April 2026.
Maersk noted that further adjustments may be introduced as energy-market conditions evolve.
