The Maritime IT Networking Summit, held at the Grecotel La Riviera resort and organised under the aegis of AMMITEC, the Hellenic Institute of Maritime Technology (H.I.M.T.) and the Propeller Club, has officially opened today. The two-day premium B2B event is a Boussias Events initiative focused on the secure digital transformation of the shipping industry, and stands as the only event of its kind in Greece.
The summit brings together chief information officers, chief information security officers, chief technology officers, and directors and managers responsible for innovation, information security, digitalisation and maritime IT infrastructure from leading shipping companies. They meet face to face with solution providers from the corresponding sectors of the maritime industry.
The format combines one-to-one business meetings, keynote presentations, targeted thematic discussions and networking opportunities, with the ambition of establishing itself as the annual gathering point for decision-makers from both the Greek and international maritime community.
The agenda features a high-level panel discussion titled “Scaling Intelligence in Maritime: AI, Legacy & Enterprise Reality”, bringing together Dr. Stavros Daniil (Capital Maritime Group), Kostas Grivas (Angelicoussis Group), Dr. Michalis Michaloliakos (TMS), Vasilis Parthenis (Piraeus Port Authority) and Dr. Anna Vazintari (Eurobulk). The panel will examine the role of artificial intelligence and the challenges of integrating it into a complex, legacy-driven maritime environment.
On the second day, a strategically significant session titled “Future Pathways in Maritime Security: Strengthening Digital Trust in the Maritime Ecosystem” will focus on cybersecurity and the reinforcement of trust within the maritime digital ecosystem. Panellists include Professor Sokratis Katsikas (NORCICS), Konstantina Koukou (Palo Alto Networks), Dr. Manthos Macheiras (AMMITEC) and Professor Christos Xenakis (University of Piraeus).
All thematic sessions and roundtable discussions are moderated by journalist Antonia Saratsopoulou, Managing Editor of Container News.
The event is supported by Palo Alto Networks as gold sponsor, with VEEAM serving as lunch host, Odyssey Cybersecurity hosting the wine and whiskey tasting, Control System and SyntelliQ as dinner hosts, and Cosmos/Dell as after dinner drinks host.
