
Maersk will introduce a Costa Rica intermodal fuel fee of 12% for import and export cargo transported by truck.
The temporary adjustment applies from a Price Calculation Date of 7 October 2026 and will remain in effect until further notice.

Maersk attributed the Costa Rica intermodal fuel fee to continued volatility in global energy prices and fuel availability.
The carrier said it may review and adjust the surcharge as market conditions develop.
For non-FMC shipments, the Price Calculation Date is the estimated departure date of the first vessel shown in the latest booking confirmation.
For FMC shipments, the PCD is the date when Maersk or an authorised agent takes possession of the final container listed on the transport document.
