Maersk has introduced new optional digital services that support supply chain risk management, shipment visibility and emissions reporting.
The carrier is launching Maersk Risk Management (MRM). It will also offer an integrated service combining MRM, Maersk Visibility Studio and Emissions Studio.
Maersk Risk Management
MRM monitors ongoing and emerging supply chain risks that could affect shipments in the following days or weeks.
The tool combines verified internal and external data with expert analysis. It then maps developing risks against customers’ live shipments and identifies potentially vulnerable cargo.
As a result, customers can assess potential disruption earlier. They can also take preventive action, such as securing alternative capacity, changing inventory plans or preparing contingency measures.
Integrated supply chain tools
MRM forms part of Maersk’s Integrated Supply Chain Engine product family. This portfolio also includes Maersk Visibility Studio and Emissions Studio.
Maersk Visibility Studio provides real-time visibility for multimodal shipments, including ocean and air cargo. It identifies delays, provides predictive estimated arrival times and highlights exceptions that require attention.
The platform also provides analytics on carrier performance, trade lanes, lead times, detention and demurrage.
Meanwhile, Emissions Studio calculates and consolidates customers’ Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions across all transport modes.
Maersk will now offer the three tools as an optional integrated service. Customers can use the connected platform to manage supply chain risk, visibility and emissions.
