Kuehne+Nagel has expanded its own-controlled air freight network by adding Frankfurt to its Inspire aircraft rotation.
The move strengthens connections between North America, Europe and Asia. It also improves support for pharmaceutical and other time-sensitive cargo shipments.

The first Inspire flight arrived in Frankfurt as part of the expanded network.
Frankfurt is Europe’s largest air cargo hub. The airport handles around 2 million tonnes of cargo each year and plays a key role in the movement of high-value goods.
The updated rotation includes a weekly service from Chicago to Frankfurt and then onward to Atlanta.
The new route directly connects Frankfurt and Chicago, two major pharmaceutical production and distribution centres. It supports the movement of healthcare products that require reliable and fast transportation.
Kuehne+Nagel operates Inspire through a long-term charter agreement with Atlas Air.
The service uses a Boeing 747-8 Freighter, the largest cargo aircraft manufactured by Boeing. The aircraft can carry approximately 140 tonnes of cargo and supports the transport of complex and high-value shipments across major global trade lanes.
From June 2026, the expanded Inspire network connects Atlanta, Chicago, Frankfurt, Liège, Sharjah and Taipei.
Kuehne+Nagel designed the network to support industries that depend on speed and reliability. These include pharmaceuticals, aerospace, high-tech manufacturing, semiconductors and cloud infrastructure.
“Frankfurt is one of Europe’s leading air cargo and pharmaceutical hubs, linking regional production with global markets,” said Martin Schaefer, SVP Air Logistics Germany at Kuehne+Nagel.
“The expanded Inspire rotation provides customers with capacity, reliability and greater global connectivity for both healthcare shipments and other time-sensitive cargo, including high-tech and semiconductor flows.”
