Konecranes has received a $51.2 million order from the US Navy for a heavy-lift portal jib crane.
The order was booked in May 2026 and marks the seventh portal jib order secured by Konecranes under an agreement first announced in 2019.
The 175-ton crane will be delivered to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine.
Konecranes said the crane will be built in Wisconsin and installed at the naval facility to support shipyard operations.
The customized crane design allows it to operate on both straight and curved tracks.
The company added that the modular configuration enables future modifications if the crane is relocated to another naval shipyard with different track gauge requirements.
Konecranes noted that the design can also be adapted for use at naval shipyards globally with similar operational needs.
The order further strengthens Konecranes’ position in the heavy-duty naval and industrial crane market.
