JINGDONG Property to build 150,000-sqm logistics hub in Abu Dhabi

JINGDONG Property has signed an agreement with KEZAD Group to develop a 150,000-square-metre logistics facility in Abu Dhabi, expanding the company’s logistics infrastructure presence in the UAE.

The facility will be built in KEZAD Area A – Al Ma’mourah and is expected to be delivered in 2028. It will combine warehousing with automated systems and digital operations, providing logistics infrastructure for companies serving both regional and international markets.

Smart logistics facility planned for KEZAD

JINGDONG Property, the infrastructure investment and asset management arm of JD.com, plans to use the development to provide flexible warehousing and logistics solutions for companies across different industries.

The facility will incorporate smart automated warehousing systems and digital technologies to manage operations. JINGDONG Property will also offer customised development services, allowing the infrastructure to be adapted to different customer requirements.

The project is expected to support multimodal logistics activities, taking advantage of KEZAD’s transport infrastructure and its connections to regional and international trade networks.

“This milestone logistics facility in KEZAD represents a critical step in JINGDONG Property’s UAE expansion strategy,” said Feng Guo, CEO of JD.com Middle East.

He added that the development will use KEZAD’s location and infrastructure to provide multimodal logistics solutions for fast-moving supply chains.

Development expected to create 1,000 jobs

Once operational, the facility is expected to create around 1,000 direct jobs across logistics, distribution and administrative functions. The project is also expected to generate indirect employment in areas including manufacturing, retail, transportation and support services.

“The establishment of this advanced logistics facility reflects the growing confidence of international investors in Abu Dhabi’s economic ecosystem,” said Mohamed Al Khadar Al Ahmed, CEO of KEZAD Group.

JINGDONG Property currently manages more than 300 infrastructure assets worldwide, representing over 28 million square metres of gross floor area and more than US$16 billion in assets under management.

Its portfolio includes logistics and business parks as well as data centres, serving companies across e-commerce, third-party logistics, manufacturing and retail.
