Gulftainer’s shipping arm, GT Lines, has launched a new direct container service connecting Khorfakkan in the United Arab Emirates with Djibouti.
The new service is marketed as KRX 1 – Khorfakkan Red Sea Express and commenced operations in October 2026.
GT Lines will operate the Khorfakkan–Djibouti shuttle every 14 days using a single container ship. The vessel’s capacity has not yet been disclosed.

The service rotation is:
Khorfakkan – Djibouti – Khorfakkan.
The new connection expands GT Lines’ coverage between the Gulf and the Red Sea. Djibouti will also provide access to cargo markets in Ethiopia.
At Khorfakkan, customers will be able to connect with other services within GT Lines and Gulftainer’s wider port and logistics network.
