Hapag-Lloyd will implement a General Rate Increase and General Rate Adjustment for shipments from the Indian Subcontinent, Pakistan and the Middle East to North America.
The Hapag-Lloyd GRI will apply to containers gated in full from 1 November 2026 and will remain valid until further notice.
It covers cargo transported in 20-foot and 40-foot dry, reefer and special containers, including high-cube equipment.
Hapag-Lloyd GRI amounts by destination
The following increases will apply:
- North America East Coast and Gulf Coast: US$1,000 per container
- North America West Coast: US$1,500 per container
The West Coast adjustment is therefore US$500 per container higher than the increase applying to East Coast and Gulf Coast destinations.
