Hapag-Lloyd announces Far East–Europe rate increase

Hapag-Lloyd has announced increased Freight All Kinds (FAK) ocean tariff rates for shipments between the Far East and Europe.

The revised rates will apply to cargo transported in 20-foot and 40-foot dry and reefer containers, including high cube equipment, for sailings commencing from June 1, 2026.

According to the carrier, the updated rates for shipments from the Far East to North Europe have been set at USD 2,800 for 20-foot containers and USD 4,300 for 40-foot and 40-foot high cube containers.

For cargo moving to the West Mediterranean, Adriatic region and Türkiye, rates will increase to USD 3,900 for 20-foot containers and USD 5,500 for 40-foot and high cube units.

Shipments to the East Mediterranean, Egypt and Black Sea destinations including Bulgaria and Romania will be subject to rates of USD 3,950 for 20-foot containers and USD 5,600 for 40-foot and high cube equipment.

The same tariff structure will also apply to reefer containers on the respective trade lanes.

Hapag-Lloyd noted that the rates include Marine Fuel Recovery (MFR) charges and remain subject to applicable tariff conditions and surcharges.
