GXO Logistics has appointed Roberto Pascual as Managing Director for Spain and Portugal as the company looks to accelerate growth and strengthen customer-focused operations across Iberia.

Based in Madrid, Pascual will oversee operations across both markets and focus on customer-centricity, automation deployment and expansion across strategic industry sectors.

He will report to Paul Mohan, President of Continental Europe at GXO.

“The appointment of Roberto Pascual marks an exciting new chapter in our pursuit of operational excellence, commercial expansion and technology-driven innovation,” said Paul Mohan.

He added that Pascual’s experience across the Iberian logistics market positions him to support the company’s growth ambitions.

Pascual brings more than 25 years of experience in contract logistics.

He joins GXO from DHL Supply Chain, where he spent more than two decades in senior leadership positions, most recently serving as Managing Director for Spain and Portugal.

GXO said Pascual’s appointment follows a strong growth period under Rui Marques, who led the company’s Iberian operations for more than 20 years.

During his tenure, the company expanded its regional footprint, delivered double-digit growth and strengthened relationships with major customers.

Marques will now transition to lead one of GXO’s major global customer accounts.

GXO currently operates 50 distribution centers across Spain and Portugal.

The company employs more than 8,500 people across 1.5 million square meters of logistics space, including Europe’s largest logistics facility located in Guadalajara.

The company serves customers across sectors including e-commerce, retail, fashion, food and beverage, technology and automotive.
