The logistics firm Duvenbeck has entered the e-fulfilment industry, inaugurating a new fulfilment centre in Böblingen, Germany near Stuttgart earlier this year.
This facility is dedicated to processing online purchases, offering a comprehensive range of services tailored to the needs of Internet stores and online marketplaces. With Duvenbeck, online merchants now have access to a one-stop solution encompassing warehousing, stock management, packaging, and returns handling.
“Operators of Internet stores can now completely focus on their sales and the further development of their platform. We handle everything else," stated Barbara Geissler-Henn, the business development manager of Contract Logistics at Duvenbeck in Böblingen, explaining the process.
Moreover, the launch of services has shown great promise, with fashion startups like Vicinity and MoonLight already entrusting Duvenbeck with handling all their orders. Through seamless IT interfaces, customer orders are swiftly directed to Duvenbeck's Böblingen facility. Orders received by 3 p.m. are promptly assembled, packaged, and dispatched to businesses or private customers via express or standard delivery services on the same day, with the option for climate-neutral shipping if desired.
Designed as a multi-user warehouse, the new fulfilment centre in Böblingen offers online traders flexibility and growth potential. Additional services such as customized packaging for individual customers or special promotions can be easily arranged as needed. Duvenbeck's comprehensive fulfilment services also include a streamlined returns management system, complete with quality checks and reconditioning of returned items.
According to a statement, from DIY and electronics to toys, fashion, and dietary supplements, the online marketplace now encompasses a vast array of products, reflecting the widespread shift towards e-commerce.
“However, we don’t just appeal to Internet stores for private customers. Our fulfilment concept is just as suitable for industrial customers, which need to send their components and spare parts to customers quickly and easily,” added Geissler-Henn.
