MacGregor has secured a series of offshore load handling modernisation and upgrade contracts during the first half of 2026.

The contracts were booked in the company’s first and second-quarter 2026 order intake.

The projects cover the modernisation of offshore load handling equipment and reinforce MacGregor’s position in the global offshore services market.

The company said the contracts reflect growing demand for upgrades that improve the performance, safety and reliability of existing offshore vessels.

Several projects include the complete replacement of crane control systems.

MacGregor will replace obsolete equipment with the latest control technology used on its newest cranes. The projects also include the installation of new operator cabins featuring advanced human-machine interfaces (HMI) and improved operational functions.

The company said its experience in delivering similar upgrade projects helped secure repeat business from customers.

MacGregor also highlighted its ability to tailor modernisation programmes to individual vessels and crane systems. The upgrades are designed to extend equipment life, improve operational efficiency and help owners meet new operational requirements.

Tomas Hakala, Senior Vice President of Global Services at MacGregor, said the contracts reflect the industry’s increasing focus on safety and operational precision.

He added that vessel owners are looking for modernisation solutions that allow existing assets to remain competitive and qualify for new offshore projects.
