DP World and Nigeria-based Tropical General Investments Group have announced a partnership to strengthen logistics capabilities in Nigeria, combining DP World’s global logistics and supply chain expertise with TGI Group’s market presence, distribution network and operational experience.
Subject to regulatory approval, TGI will become a shareholder in DP World Logistics Limited in Nigeria, with DP World retaining majority ownership.
DP World Logistics Limited will continue to serve existing customers and partners without interruption, maintaining current services and operational commitments while building additional capabilities.
The business provides services across Nigeria including road freight and contract logistics, with a substantial footprint in market access across the healthcare and consumer sectors.
The partnership will enable a broader range of integrated supply chain solutions, including fourth-party logistics offerings, and will help connect Nigerian businesses to regional and global markets through DP World’s wider network.
DP World will also provide logistics and operational support services to TGI Group to improve supply chain efficiency and optimise operations.
While initially focused on Nigeria, the collaboration creates a platform for potential expansion across West Africa, one of the continent’s most dynamic trade regions.
Mohammed Akoojee, CEO and Managing Director of DP World Africa, described Nigeria as one of Africa’s most important economies and a critical market for the future of continental trade, framing the partnership as an important step in DP World’s journey to strengthen supply chains and unlock new growth opportunities.
Farouk Gumel, Vice Chairman of TGI Group, described the agreement as reflecting a shared ambition to reshape the future of trade and logistics in Africa, building resilient supply chains that support economic prosperity through the combination of global expertise and deep local market knowledge.
