DP World Executive Chairman H.E. Essa Kazim made his first visit to India in his new role, accompanied by Group CEO Yuvraj Narayan and members of DP World’s Global Board of Directors, reaffirming the company’s long-term commitment to India’s economic growth and global trade ambitions.
The visit reflects India’s strategic importance to DP World’s global growth agenda as the country strengthens its position as a global manufacturing, consumption and export hub.
A key engagement during the visit was a meeting with Gaurav Dayal, Chairman of the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority, and Ravish Kumar, Deputy Chairman, reaffirming a partnership spanning nearly three decades that began with the concession agreement for Nhava Sheva International Container Terminal and has played a role in the development of India’s public-private partnership model in port infrastructure.
Discussions focused on strengthening this relationship and exploring future collaboration opportunities, including the development of Vadhavan Port and further investment in the JNPA Special Economic Zone.
H.E. Essa Kazim and Yuvraj Narayan also inaugurated Phase 2 of the Nhava Sheva Business Park in the presence of DP World board members. The business park’s first phase spans 44 acres with one million square feet of warehousing space.
The newly inaugurated second phase covers an additional 42 acres, adding a further one million square feet of warehousing capacity at an investment of approximately INR 500 crore, equivalent to US$ 52 million.
Together, the two phases form part of DP World’s broader vision to develop an integrated logistics ecosystem at Nhava Sheva, connecting port operations with container freight stations, rail, warehousing and Free Trade Warehousing Zone capabilities.
H.E. Essa Kazim described India as a strategic partner in DP World’s global growth journey, framing the company’s commitment as extending beyond infrastructure investment to building enduring partnerships, strengthening connectivity and creating integrated supply chain solutions that enable Indian businesses to compete more effectively in global markets.
