DP World will progress the development of the capabilities of Emirati and international coders, developers, and engineers, in an effort to solve challenges in the supply chain and drive technological advancements in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
This initiative is part of UAE’s overarching strategy to deploy the technology needed to broaden its vision of “a digitised, more efficient, transparent and resilient post-Covid world trade.”
“The programmers and coders initiative acts as a key driver to tackle major challenges in the world of logistics and trade,” noted Mohamed Rahmah, vice president of the software company Zodiac, while presenting DP World the program.
DP World’s coders are internationally available from South Korea to South America, with technical capabilities from Artificial Intelligence (AI) and blockchain to full-stack development, according to a statement.
Innovative technology solutions, such as Cargoes Internet of things (IoT+)’s Digital Twin that leverage machine learning to simulate and improve the flow of containers through terminals, are part of the Dubai-based company.
“With a proven track record of successfully reducing inefficiencies in terminals, Mohammed Rahmah is well placed to lead this initiative for UAE, focusing on smart port and terminal solutions,” said DP World in a statement.
The global port operator is a pivotal partner of the government-led initiative to support national efforts to attract a new generation of programmers and coders to the country, in line with the UAE’s growth strategy.
