
According to Dynaliners, several shipowners have placed new feeder vessel orders or converted existing options into firm contracts, highlighting continued investment in the sub-2,000 TEU container ship segment despite growing global orderbooks.
Greek shipowner Goldenport has ordered three 1,800 TEU container vessels at Wuhan Qingshan Shipyard, part of China Merchants Group. The ships are scheduled for delivery in 2027 and 2028.
Shanghai Jinjiang Shipping has exercised options for four additional 1,900 TEU vessels at Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, converting them into firm orders. The ships are part of an earlier order placed this year, with deliveries expected to begin in mid-2029.
Hong Kong-based shipowner EGPN, previously focused on the dry bulk and clean tanker markets, has entered the container sector by ordering two 1,900 TEU vessels from CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipyard. Delivery of both ships is scheduled for 2029.
Meanwhile, multiple industry sources report that Shanghai Minsheng Shipping has converted options for two 1,100 TEU vessels at New Dayang Shipbuilding into firm orders. The vessels follow an initial order for two ships placed in 2025, with deliveries across the four-vessel series scheduled between 2027 and 2029.
