CMA CGM Group has signed a preliminary agreement to acquire Crystal Aero Solutions, marking its expansion into aircraft maintenance as it continues to grow its air cargo operations.
Based at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, with additional operations in Brussels and Liège, Crystal Aero Solutions specializes in line and light maintenance services for both cargo and passenger aircraft. The company also provides international engine support services, particularly across Africa and Asia, and has been maintaining the fleet of CMA CGM AIR CARGO since 2024.
According to CMA CGM, the acquisition will strengthen the operational capabilities of its air freight business by bringing aircraft maintenance expertise in-house, improving fleet availability and reinforcing its presence across key European aviation hubs.
The transaction remains subject to the completion of the legally required employee information and consultation process.
Crystal Aero Solutions will continue operating as an independent maintenance provider, serving airlines and third-party operators while retaining its existing management team.
Damien Mazaudier, Senior Vice President of the Air Division at CMA CGM Group, said the acquisition represents another milestone in the company’s air cargo strategy.
“As our fleet continues to grow, we will be able to rely on the expertise and know-how of Crystal Aero Solutions’ teams to support our operations across several strategic platforms and support the continued growth of CMA CGM AIR CARGO,” he said.
The acquisition further expands CMA CGM’s presence in the aviation sector as the Group continues to invest in integrated sea, land, air and logistics services.
