Kalmar has signed a maintenance agreement with Total Terminal International Algeciras (TTI Algeciras) in Spain.
The Kalmar Care agreement covers 40 cranes at the container terminal. These include eight ship-to-shore (STS) cranes and 32 automated stacking cranes (ASCs).
Under the contract, Kalmar will provide preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance for the equipment.
The company booked the order in its third-quarter 2026 order intake.
Supporting TTI Algeciras operations
TTI Algeciras operates one of the two container terminals at the Port of Algeciras Bay.
The semi-automated terminal is currently undergoing a major expansion. The project will increase its annual handling capacity to 2.1 million TEUs by 2028.
The terminal can also handle current and next-generation ultra-large container vessels (ULCVs).
TTI Algeciras already uses Kalmar for fleet maintenance. In addition, the terminal operates a fleet of 23 Kalmar straddle carriers.
“We chose Kalmar to deliver mechanical preventive maintenance for our STS and ASC equipment because we value their professional, highly responsive service team and proven track record,” said Alonso Luque, CEO, TTI Algeciras.
“Reliable maintenance is essential to ensure maximum operational efficiency and equipment uptime as we continue servicing next-generation Ultra Large Container Vessels at our terminal,” he added.
Kalmar expands partnership with terminal
The latest agreement expands the existing relationship between Kalmar and TTI Algeciras.
“We are very proud to expand our long-standing partnership with TTI Algeciras through this new Kalmar Care service agreement,” said Sergio Peralta, Country Director Spain, Kalmar.
“Our dedicated local team is committed to delivering service excellence and ensuring high equipment availability to support TTI Algeciras as a premier semi-automated transshipment hub in Southern Europe,” he added.
