cargo-partner is expanding its role in Central and Eastern Europe through its iLogistics Center in Dunajská Streda, Slovakia.

The facility serves as a key hub for automotive, high-tech and intermodal logistics. It has been operational since 2012 and benefits from a direct rail connection to the METRANS intermodal terminal.

Containers arriving from ports including Bremerhaven, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Koper, Trieste and Istanbul move directly from rail to the warehouse.

The direct transfer eliminates last-mile trucking. cargo-partner said this cuts transit times by up to two days while reducing CO₂ emissions, trucking costs and container storage charges.

The site also acts as a deconsolidation hub for LCL rail shipments on the Iron Silk Road. It complements the company’s logistics hub in Brwinów, Poland.

The terminal offers frequent rail services, including up to 21 weekly connections with Koper, as well as regular services to Česká Třebová, Hamburg, Bremerhaven and Košice.

The Dunajská Streda facility has become an important logistics centre for the automotive industry.

In 2025, the site handled more than 203,000 pallet movements and processed 2,934 TEU for four major automotive customers.

The facility also provides value-added logistics services. Last year, employees applied more than 604,000 labels for a high-tech customer, repacked nearly 173,000 automotive parts, and cleaned more than 20,000 KLT containers using an industrial washing system.

The 18,200-square-metre logistics centre includes 11,200 square metres of bonded warehouse space, nine container docks, dedicated heavy cargo access, a high-capacity transshipment area and Pick & Pack facilities supporting assembly, quality control and returns management.

Tibor Majzun, Managing Director of cargo-partner Slovakia, said the company’s goal is to provide more than warehouse space.

He said the combination of direct rail access and specialised automotive logistics enables cargo-partner to connect global shipping routes with Central European manufacturing while delivering faster, more sustainable supply chain solutions.
