Yusen Logistics has opened its new European regional headquarters in Antwerp, strengthening its presence in one of Europe’s largest logistics hubs.

The new office, Yusen Logistics Global Management (Europe) N.V. (YLGM-EUR), will serve as the company’s regional headquarters and support its operations across Europe.

The facility houses around 140 employees.

Yusen Logistics relocated its European headquarters from Schiphol, Amsterdam, to Antwerp. The company said the move reflects its long-term commitment to the European market and its strategy to operate from a major logistics gateway.

Antwerp offers direct access to road, rail, inland waterways and maritime transport. The presence of the Port of Antwerp-Bruges also strengthens the city’s role as a key gateway for international trade.

The move also brings Yusen Logistics closer to other NYK Group companies based in Antwerp, including NYK Bulkship (Atlantic) and International Car Operators (ICO).

The company said the closer proximity will improve collaboration across the group and strengthen integrated logistics services for customers.

The official opening ceremony was attended by representatives from the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, customers, business partners and employees.

Hiroki Harada, CEO of Yusen Logistics Global Management, said the new headquarters reflects the company’s confidence in the European market and its commitment to supporting customers through a stronger regional organisation.

Minoru Futonaka, Managing Director of YLGM-EUR, said the new headquarters will encourage closer collaboration between teams and support the future growth of the company’s European operations.

Bruno Jacques, Deputy Managing Director of YLGM-EUR, said Antwerp offers outstanding connectivity, logistics expertise and international business opportunities, making it an ideal location for the company’s European headquarters.
