World Maritime Forum 2027 puts fleet decisions under one roof in Copenhagen

World Maritime Forum

The two-day maritime conference will take place at Copenhagen’s AC Bella Sky Convention Center on 23-24 February 2027.

World Maritime Forum 2027 will return to Copenhagen for two days at the AC Bella Sky Convention Center. Organised by IGGS Group, the gathering is designed for shipowners, ship managers, shipbuilders, ports, authorities, maritime industry suppliers and service providers. Its timing reflects decisions already pressing across shipping: fleet investment, operational continuity, workforce capability and the move from digital trials to practical implementation.

The event projects 800 attendees, 70 speakers and 50 exhibitors, with 300+ buyers expected among the audience. The expected audience includes professionals working in fleet, project, procurement and technical management, as well as sustainability, crewing, port operations, finance and IT. This mix matters because vessel decisions now involve several teams, budgets and shore-based systems.

The 2027 programme will introduce new speakers from established shipping companies, ports and influential maritime organisations. They will share first-hand updates on fleet investment, port priorities, cyber risk, AI adoption, vessel efficiency and workforce needs, grounding the discussions in current operational experience.

12 new panel discussions and 2 on-stage conversations will focus on the main choices facing maritime businesses, including where investment may be directed over the coming years. Topics include IMO measures, EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime, future fuels and bunkering, retrofit performance, transition finance, sanctions and shadow-fleet risks, cyber and GNSS security, crew skills, AI, vessel design, and remote and autonomous operations. Together, the sessions will connect regulation and operational risks with investment decisions concerning fleets, ports, infrastructure, people and technology.

A nearby exhibition area will place conference delegates alongside suppliers’ products, services, capabilities and promising innovations. The forum will cover propulsion, fleet-performance systems, maintenance, safety, connectivity, cybersecurity, ship repair, vessel design, interior solutions and shipbuilding. For buyers, the useful comparison will be between claimed benefits and the integration, cost and operating constraints raised in the conference programme.

Copenhagen offers a fitting setting for this cross-section of maritime interests, and the venue keeps the conference, exhibition and meetings within one complex. More important than scale alone is the chance to compare policy, vessel operations, capital allocation and supplier evidence in the same room. Those comparisons could help clarify which fleet and organisational choices are ready for wider deployment by the end of the decade.
