Waberer’s Group reports revenue growth in first half of 2026

Waberer's Group records growth during H1 2026.

Waberer’s Group generated first-half 2026 revenue of EUR 435 million, a 9.4% increase compared to the same period last year, with second quarter revenue reaching EUR 227 million, up nearly 12% year-on-year.

Net profit rose 24 percent to EUR 25.9 million in the first half and 36 percent to EUR 18.2 million in the second quarter.

First-half EBIT of EUR 26.6 million was EUR 2.4 million below the prior year period, though second quarter EBIT of EUR 15.5 million represented an improvement of EUR 4.5 million compared to the first quarter of 2026.

The results were achieved against a challenging economic backdrop, with high fuel prices and the strengthening of the forint against the euro exerting pressure on the Group’s earnings capacity.

Management noted that renegotiated contractual fuel clauses and forward foreign exchange positions significantly mitigated these impacts, and that these factors no longer represent a material additional risk for the remainder of the year.

Zsolt Barna, Chairman and CEO, described signs of supply and demand returning to balance in the European freight market in the second half, already reflected in improved profitability in international transportation operations compared to the first quarter.

He noted that traditional logistics activities continued to operate steadily, though the slowdown in Hungary’s construction industry has had some impact.

The Insurance segment, strengthened by the acquisition of Magyar Posta Insurance, continues to demonstrate stable earnings capacity.

Management expects earnings from core logistics and insurance operations to be in line with the base year in 2026, while noting that the international environment and delays to regional investment projects may lead to a review of the timing of business development opportunities during the remainder of the year.

Strict cost and efficiency controls will continue to be enforced to support delivery of the full-year earnings outlook.
