Valenciaport participated in the Logismed Casablanca international trade fair, North Africa’s leading logistics and supply chain event, with a delegation led by Port Authority of Valencia President Mar Chao.
The visit formed part of the authority’s strategy to consolidate its role as a strategic gateway for trade between Europe, Africa and the Mediterranean, and to strengthen its commercial presence in the Moroccan market.
The delegation held a series of institutional meetings and working sessions with representatives of Morocco’s logistics and port sector within the framework of the Spanish Pavilion organised by ICEX.
The fair annually brings together government officials, logistics operators, shipping companies and institutional leaders including representatives from Morocco’s Ministry of Transport, attracting more than 5,000 trade visitors and serving as a key platform for partnership development across the Maghreb region.
Morocco has established itself as one of Valenciaport’s most significant trading partners. In 2025, total trade volume between Valenciaport and Moroccan ports reached 2,090,864 tonnes, a cumulative increase of 7.81 percent on the previous year.
Container traffic grew more strongly, with 121,193 full TEUs handled between Valenciaport and Morocco in 2025, representing a cumulative increase of 16.92% year-on-year.
These figures reinforce the strategic importance of hubs such as Casablanca and Tangier Med within Valenciaport’s international network.
The participation in Logismed also reflects the objectives outlined in Valenciaport’s 2035 Strategic Plan, which prioritises sustainable growth, innovation, enhanced connectivity and the deepening of commercial relationships with strategic markets across North Africa and the broader Mediterranean region.
