Maersk will implement a seasonal blank sailing on its Northern Star service due to seasonal cargo demand and market fluctuations.
The affected voyage is the Capitaine Baret 636S southbound / 639N northbound rotation. The southbound voyage will begin from Shanghai on 6 September 2026, while the northbound voyage is scheduled to depart Tauranga on 17 October 2026.
Maersk said all affected bookings, except Brisbane import cargo, will be transferred to the next scheduled vessel. Imports from Shanghai and Hong Kong to Brisbane will instead be routed via alternative services to maintain weekly coverage.
The carrier said the adjustment is intended to align capacity with seasonal demand while ensuring continued service reliability across its Asia–Oceania network.
