THE Alliance, which consists of Hapag-Lloyd, Yang Ming, Ocean Network Express (ONE) and HMM, has announced its updated service network for the next year, which aims to provide increased capacity on trade lanes with inflated demand.
The setup of THE Alliance’s network, which will be in effect from the upcoming April, “has been evaluated and reconfigured to ensure better frequency, more competitive transit times and comprehensive port coverage,” said THE Alliance’s carriers in a joint statement.

In addition, THE Alliance will be launching the East Coast Loop 6 (EC6), the first service within its network to directly and seamlessly connect the US Gulf with key ports in Asia. This decision is still subject to regulatory authority approval, according to an alliance statement.
Furthermore, THE Alliance members have unveiled their intention to deploy larger container ships for the most frequented services. A representative case is the merger of the EC1 and EC3 services through the use of 13,500TEU vessels.
