T-Mining has joined the Digital Container Shipping Association’s DCSA+ partnership programme to support the development and adoption of standards-based Secure Container Release (SCR).
Through the partnership, T-Mining will contribute its operational experience to DCSA’s work on interoperable digital standards for container release.
The initiative aims to address differences in container release processes across ports and terminals. These differences can create operational complexity for carriers and shippers. They can also introduce security vulnerabilities.
Shared digital standards are designed to make these processes more secure and easier to implement across the container shipping industry.
T-Mining brings Secure Container Release experience to DCSA+
T-Mining has deployed its Secure Container Release solution with major ocean carriers since 2016. These include MSC, Hapag-Lloyd and CMA CGM.
The company will now bring this implementation experience to DCSA working groups.
The collaboration aims to ensure that emerging standards reflect actual operating conditions. It will also support solutions that can work across different carriers, ports, terminals and technology providers.
“Since 2016, we’ve gained first-hand experience implementing Secure Container Release with leading carriers and terminals around the world, ensuring the safe handover of millions of containers in the last 10 years,” said Nico Wauters, CEO, T-Mining.
“Joining DCSA+ is the natural next step, allowing us to bring those practical insights into the development of a global standard rather than regional implementations,” added Wauters.
He said the company will work with carriers and other industry stakeholders to develop standards that are both secure and practical to implement.
DCSA targets interoperable container release
For T-Mining, the DCSA+ programme provides a structured way to participate in standards development alongside carriers, ports and terminals.
The partnership will focus on creating container release solutions that can operate across the wider shipping ecosystem.
“Secure, interoperable container release is an important enabler of the industry’s digital transformation,” said Mariana Bock-Losada, Chief Growth Officer, DCSA.
“T-Mining brings valuable operational experience from implementing Secure Container Release across multiple carriers, terminals and geographies,” added Bock-Losada.
According to DCSA, this experience will contribute to the development of standards that are practical and scalable across the industry.
DCSA+ expands the association’s standards development process beyond container carriers. The programme also brings together technology providers, cargo owners, freight forwarders, feeder operators and terminals.
Partners receive implementation support and early insight into emerging standards. They can also contribute directly to the development of solutions designed for wider industry adoption.
