Swire Shipping will introduce container maintenance charges for general-purpose equipment arriving across several European markets and South Africa.
The new charges will apply to cargo arriving on or after 5 November 2026. The same rate will apply to both 20-foot and 40-foot containers in each market.

Swire Shipping said it introduced the container maintenance charges following a review of the costs associated with providing its services.
The carrier will apply the new fee under the Container Maintenance Charge code MCD.
