Signal Ocean has acquired Athens-based software company Lgmar, the developer of Telix, a maritime email and communications platform used by shipping professionals.
The acquisition expands Signal Ocean’s technology portfolio beyond maritime data and market intelligence. The company aims to bring communication tools and shipping data closer together, helping users manage their daily work.
Founded in 1989, Lgmar serves hundreds of maritime companies and thousands of users. Its Telix platform is used by shipowners, ship managers, brokers, operators and other shipping professionals.
Expanding maritime technology services
Signal Ocean plans to combine its data, artificial intelligence and technology capabilities with Lgmar’s experience in maritime communications.
The company sees email as an important part of shipping operations. It is widely used for chartering, commercial discussions and communication between shipping companies.
“Email is an important part of the shipping workflow,” said Ioannis Martinos, CEO of Signal Ocean.
Martinos also stressed that maintaining service continuity for existing customers will be an immediate priority.
Helen Skourtis, Managing Director of Lgmar, said the decision to join Signal Ocean reflected the companies’ shared understanding of the shipping industry and its technology needs.
The acquisition follows Signal Ocean’s purchases of AXSMarine and Alphaliner earlier in 2026. These deals have expanded its presence in maritime information and software services.
Building a broader shipping platform
Signal Ocean provides digital tools that help charterers, brokers and shipowners analyse shipping and commodity data.
By adding Lgmar, the company is extending its activities into the communication systems used to manage commercial shipping operations.
The acquisition is intended to support closer links between market information and everyday communication. However, Signal Ocean has not announced a timetable for integrating Telix into its existing platform.
The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
