Port of Helsingborg orders two Kalmar electric reachstackers

This marks the first equipment order from the Port of Helsingborg under the six-year frame agreement signed in Q2 2026.

The Port of Helsingborg has ordered two electric reachstackers from Kalmar, marking the first equipment order under a six-year framework agreement signed by the companies earlier this year.

The agreement covers the potential procurement of up to nine zero-emission machines. Kalmar booked the latest order in its third-quarter 2026 order intake, with delivery scheduled for the end of the second quarter of 2027.

The order also includes MyKalmar INSIGHT and the Inspector machine inspection solution.

Helsingborg continues terminal electrification

Located on Sweden’s Øresund coast, Helsingborg is the country’s second-largest container port and serves as an important hub connecting sea, road and rail transport.

The port has been investing in electric cargo-handling equipment for several years. In 2022, Container News reported that Helsingborg had ordered its first Kalmar electric reachstacker, which became the first machine of its type delivered to a customer in Sweden.

The port also operates three Kalmar Eco Reachstackers.

“Ordering these first two units under our new framework agreement represents an important step in our transition towards lower-emission terminal operations,” said Christina Argelius, Chief Technical Officer, Port of Helsingborg.

She added that the port intends to replace diesel-powered equipment through a structured, long-term programme.

The latest order therefore expands Helsingborg’s electrification programme while beginning the implementation of the new six-year agreement with Kalmar.
