Maersk has announced Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) updates covering shipments to Kenya, Oceania and the eastern coasts of the United States and Canada.
The measures will take effect on different dates in October and November 2026.
China and Hong Kong to Kenya
From 19 October 2026, Maersk will apply the following PSS to shipments from China and Hong Kong to Kenya:

The surcharge will remain in effect until further notice. It applies to non-SPOT bookings based on the Price Calculation Date (PCD) and does not apply to SPOT bookings.
Asia to Oceania
Maersk will also introduce a PSS on dry container shipments from several Asian markets to Oceania from a PCD of 1 November 2026.

Indian Subcontinent and Middle East to North America
Revised PSS levels will apply from 2 October 2026 on shipments from the Indian Subcontinent and Middle East to the US and Canadian East and Gulf coasts.
