PIL enhances intra-Asia network

Pacific International Lines (PIL) has introduced a new weekly direct service connecting ports in China, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The new service, known as China Thailand Vietnam Service (CTV), will commence on 29 June 2022 from Tianjin Xingang, China, and will be served jointly by a consortium of vessels with an average capacity of 2,000 TEU.

Tonnie Lim, chief trade officer of PIL, said, “Following our recent rebranding exercise, we are pleased to announce this series of new launch of PIL’s Intra Asia Services dedicated to expanding our network coverage within Asia. With the addition of this new CTV service, our coverage in Asia would have been significantly enhanced, enabling us to offer linkages from all the major ports in China, Korea to Southeast Asia, and then onto the rest of our global network.”

The port rotation of the new service will be the following:

Xingang (China) – Dalian (China) – Incheon (South Korea) – Qingdao (China) – Shanghai (China) – Laem Chabang (Thailand) – Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam) – Xingang (China)

Additionally, PIL will be adding two port calls, Shanghai and Singapore, to its weekly direct Gulf China Service (GCS) from 20 June 2022.

"The insertion of these two major ports into the GCS service would enable PIL to better cater to the needs of its customers in China and the Gulf area in the Middle East region," said the company in a statement.

The updated GCS, which was launched in November last year, will commence with Kota Lihat with an estimated time of arrival (ETA) from Shanghai on 20 June 2022.

The new port rotation of Gulf China Service (GCS) is Shanghai (China) - Ningbo (China) - Nansha (China) - Shekou (China) - Jebel Ali (United Arab Emirates) - Dammam (Saudi Arabia) – Singapore – Shanghai (China)
