
MSC has announced new Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates from the Far East to Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, North Africa and the Black Sea.
The revised rates will apply from May 15, 2026, until further notice, but not beyond May 31, 2026. The scope covers all major Far East ports, including Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia.
For shipments to Northern Europe, rates are set at USD 2,700 for 20-foot containers and USD 4,500 for 40-foot containers.
Rates to the West Mediterranean and Adriatic will be USD 3,250 for 20-foot containers and USD 4,500 for 40-foot units. For the East Mediterranean, rates will reach USD 3,400 and USD 4,600 respectively.
Shipments to the Black Sea will be priced at USD 3,450 for 20-foot containers and USD 4,700 for 40-foot units.
Higher rates apply to North African destinations. Algeria will see rates of USD 5,150 for 20-foot containers and USD 6,900 for 40-foot units. Libya will be set at USD 4,850 and USD 6,200, while Morocco (Casablanca) will be priced at USD 4,050 and USD 5,500. Tunisia rates will reach USD 4,950 for 20-foot containers and USD 6,500 for 40-foot units.
The rates apply on a base port-to-base port basis, with additional charges for out-ports.
MSC noted that the announced rates include the base ocean freight and surcharges such as the Global Fuel Surcharge (GFS) and Emission Control Area (ECA) fees. Additional charges, including carbon-related surcharges, terminal handling and other local costs, may also apply.
The company added that the rates exclude IMO-class cargo and high-value commodities and remain subject to standard terms and conditions.
