MSC enhances Asia-Middle East trade network

MSC has launched a new standalone service, Clanga, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to providing an extensive network of direct port pair connectivity to address the challenges of port congestion in the Middle East.

This new service is expected to offer competitive transit times for cargo between Asia and the Middle East, enhancing trade connectivity between China, Singapore and Saudi Arabia.

MSC’s Clanga service aims to provide a unique and competitive service for Saudi exports to the Far East, with a direct call from the Saudi port of Ad Dammam to Shanghai in China.

The Clanga service is set to commence in the 35th week of the year and will have the following port rotation:

Shanghai, China > Ningbo, China > Shekou, China > Singapore, Singapore > Ad Dammam, Saudi Arabia > Shanghai, China

Additionally, to enhance its network efficiency, MSC will adjust the rotation of its New Falcon service from the 34th week of 2024. As part of this update, Ad Dammam will be omitted, and a call in Nansha will be added.

The revised rotation will be as follows:

Tianjin Xingang, China > Busan, South Korea > Qingdao, China > Shanghai, China > Ningbo, China > Xiamen, China > Nansha, China > Shekou, China > Singapore, Singapore > Jebel Ali, UAE > Abu Dhabi, UAE > Hamad, Qatar > Umm Qasr, Iraq > Abu Dhabi, UAE > Tianjin Xingang, China
