Marcor Stevedoring to build new dry bulk terminal in Rotterdam

Marcor Stevedoring, a dry bulk terminal operator in Rotterdam, will construct a new dry bulk terminal at Rotterdam's Mississippihaven.

This concerns the expansion of the yellow-and-blue floating terminal in the Waalhaven, a harbour in Rotterdam.

The extension was developed in collaboration with the Port of Rotterdam Authority.

According to the announcement, the terminal will include an enclosed storage facility with nine individual sections and a sliding ceiling system. This will enable the mass to be moved using a shore crane directly. The Hartel terminal's current warehouse will also be changed.

The new Beerweg location is 130,000 m² in size, with a 600-metre quay and a draught of 16.6 meters NAP. It will be appropriate for both interior and coastal transportation, while there is also a train link at the terminal.

The building process began in January and by the end of 2023, the first shipment is expected to have been delivered.
