Maersk will raise its Benelux intermodal fuel fees for inland transportation across Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
The revised rates will apply from 12 to 26 October 2026, replacing the levels introduced for the previous two-week period.
Updated Benelux intermodal fuel fees
| Transport mode | Previous rate | New rate |
|---|---|---|
| Truck | 14% | 16% |
| Barge and BCO | 14% | 16% |
| RCO | 7% | 8% |
Maersk will apply the percentages to its Inland Haulage Import and Inland Haulage Export charges.
The temporary Export Fuel Surcharge and Import Fuel Surcharge have been in place since the Price Calculation Date of 16 March 2026.
Maersk attributed the higher Benelux intermodal fuel fees to rising energy prices and fuel availability pressures linked to the security situation in the Middle East.
The carrier will continue reviewing the surcharge levels every two weeks as energy market conditions develop.
