Maersk will introduce a Verified Gross Mass service for export containers at the Port of Milazzo in Italy.
The Maersk Milazzo VGM service will become available on 9 November 2026 and remain in place until further notice.
Customers may use the service when they require Maersk to arrange Verified Gross Mass certification for eligible export containers.

Maersk Milazzo VGM service terms
The €50 charge will be payable at origin.
For non-SPOT bookings, Maersk will determine the applicable rate using the Price Calculation Date. For non-FMC shipments, this refers to the scheduled departure date of the first ocean leg stated when the booking is confirmed.
For FMC shipments, the Price Calculation Date corresponds to the last container gate-in date. For SPOT bookings, the rate will depend on the booking confirmation date or the first vessel’s estimated departure date stated in the confirmation.
Other applicable local and contingency surcharges may also apply.
